Choosing the Right Laptop

April 5, 2019

  • Full size laptop

This a broad category, but this type of laptop is one that has pretty much includes all of the normal stuff. These usually won’t be super thin laptops, but they will have many different ports, like display ports, usb, SD card slots, and CD/DVD drives. These laptops usually will also have larger screens and nice full-size keyboards. They also are more powerful then the next category, ultra-books.

  • Ultra-books

These laptops have become popular over the last few years and are a great option for many people. These computers are extremely thin and portable. They weight very little and often are very small in size. Usually, they won’t have a keyboard with a number pad, and the screens will be smaller. They aren’t generally powerful, but can easily do stuff like word processing, email, and internet browsers. The other big benefit is the battery life is incredible on many of these laptops. Often ultra-books are more expensive due to parts have to be engineer inside this computer.

  • Gaming Laptops

Gaming laptops could fit in a couple different categories,
but this includes any laptop that is extremely powerful. These computers will
have the most powerful processors, and will include dedicated, powerful
graphics cards. These computers are often massive, and weight many pounds. But
if you want to get the best graphic performance in your games, and want to be
able to easily carry your computer with you, then these laptops are great. The
price of these will also be extremely expensive.

  • Apple computers

Macbook laptops could fit in almost any of these categories
(except gaming), but we are putting them into a separate category since these
are only one brand and use a different operating system. Apple creates some of
the highest quality laptops with incredible build quality, and most of them are
extremely portable. They also have the best touchpads in the market. Apple
computers though do have some drawbacks such as compatibility. Many programs
and games don’t work on Mac OS. If you go with Apple, then you will be paying a
premium, since Apple products are usually much more expensive than their
competitors.

  • 2 in 1’s

These laptops have only been possible in the last few years.
But have become really great options when it comes to laptops. These laptops
basically convert into tablets. These can be where the screen comes off, or it
can be where the screen folds backward and turns into a tablet. If you want a
tablet that can still do everything that a laptop can, then these 2 in 1s are a
great choice. The Microsoft Surface products are some of the most popular in
this brand.

  • Business Laptops

This category is pretty straightforward. There are many
business laptops that fall into many different categories. These laptops are
usually more expensive, but have better build quality, and often are able to be
docked. They also sometimes have more security features.

Choosing

The laptop that is best for you will depend on what you plan
on using it for. If you want to be able to game a lot, then that will mean you
need to choose a laptop built for gaming. If you value light and portable then
go with an ultra-book. If you want a cheap laptop then you are going are
probably going to look a full size laptop. If you want Mac OS, then Apple
Computers are your best choice. There are many great options out there with
dozens of brands. Make a list of what you will be using your laptop for, and we
can help you choose a laptop that will work great for you!
