Minimum Standards

Why Have Minimum Requirements?

WACD wants to make sure every computer serves you as well as it can. Like any other industry, some standards should be met for that to happen. A standard also helps you, the purchasing manager or CTO, keep a uniform fleet and makes repairs faster. We keep three tiers, Low End, Standard, and High End, for both laptops and desktops, based on your industry and needs.

Refurbished systems must pass the Windows 11 requirements and meet at least the Low End tier. Machines still running Windows 10 are outside regular security update support (it ended October 14, 2025) and should be upgraded or replaced. RAM and SSD prices have risen sharply in 2026, so we quote current pricing at the time of sale.

Business Class Laptop

We always recommend a business-grade laptop for both consumers and businesses. They are built with higher-quality parts, offer 3-year coverage options, and tend to last longer overall. The brands we recommend are Dell, Lenovo, and HP. These specs are for Windows laptops. We also sell and support Apple Macs (Apple silicon); ask us for a quote.

Low End

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro (25H2 or later)
  • CPU: Intel Core 5 or Core Ultra 5, or AMD Ryzen PRO (Series 2 or Ryzen AI 300 and newer)
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD
  • Security: TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, BitLocker
  • Wireless: Wi-Fi 6 or newer
  • Screen: 14 or 15in
  • Warranty: 3-year coverage (we add an extended plan if the factory warranty is 1 year)

Standard

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro (25H2 or later)
  • CPU: Intel Core Ultra 5 (Series 2 or 3, vPro model for managed fleets) or AMD Ryzen AI PRO (300 or 400 series)
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD
  • Security: TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, BitLocker
  • Wireless: Wi-Fi 6E or newer
  • Screen: 14 or 15in
  • Warranty: 3-year with accidental damage

High End

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro (25H2 or later; 26H2 is current)
  • CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 (Series 3 preferred, vPro model) or AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO (400 series preferred)
  • RAM: 32GB
  • Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD
  • Security: TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, BitLocker
  • Wireless: Wi-Fi 6E minimum, Wi-Fi 7 where the model offers it
  • Screen: 14 or 15in
  • Warranty: 3-year with accidental damage

*Built-in graphics is enough for general business use. A dedicated graphics card is only needed for CAD, video editing, or GPU-heavy work.

Business Class Desktop
